So first is the Unique Blogger Award. I guess that’s the nice way of saying you’re weird… Thanks to Arthifis for the nomination! I’m so unique I got nominated for this twice now!

So what are the rules?

Seems straightforward enough! So on with the questions!

Question 1: What kind of show/book/anime/videogame (basically anything from the entertainment industry) are you into right now?

Oh, this is a tough one! I’ve always got my fingers in many pies (to borrow a totally innocent but crude sounding euphemism!) Right now though I’m really into Amanchu! I’m only halfway through the first season but I love it. It’s not my favourite of all time, just what I’m into right now.

Question 2: Is there anything you would change about yourself?

My crippling levels of anxiety! I’m always afraid people have ulterior motives and are out to get me, yay paranoia!

Question 3: If you only could use 3 words to describe your blog which ones would they be?

Blanket Fuck Vampire. Oh? To describe my blog? Um… Anime Question Answer?

I—I—Okay… Moving on… Something on your mind?

“Blanket Fuck Vampire”? What on earth?! It was the first 3 words that came to mind in the moment…

And what questions did they ask you? Some really dark ones! So prepare yourselves!

1. When you get bored at work or in class, what do you do to pass the time?

Well I’m currently unemployed, but when I was working I’d just peruse Twitter. If I had a lot of time to kill I’d work on whatever novel I was writing, just jotting down ideas on my phone. Mobile phones are the best, aren’t they?

2. What’s your go-to insult?

I’m fond of calling people ‘dingus’ or ‘dangus’ or some variant on it.

3. What song is really relatable to you (at the moment or just in general)?

It’s always ‘Ordinary World’ by Duran Duran.

4. How do you feel about small talk?

Nice weather we’re having, huh? Yeah small talk kinda sucks but I understand the need for it, sometimes it’s better than hearing strangers talk about politics and other triggering conversations.

5. Do you have a recurring nightmare/dream? (The plot doesn’t have to be the same. General themes, formats, feelings?)

I’ve been having chronic nightmares since childhood, they generally change though depending on what’s going on in my real life. Like the worst my real life is the more gentle the nightmares and vice versa. But I’ve consistently had nightmares about being in the last few weeks of high school and not having done any of my final assignments. Either that or plane crashes.

6. When you have a nightmare about being chased, what’s your usual method of escape? (Do you fly/fall/leap/run/freeze? If you fly, I’m especially curious about how flying feels for you)

Funnily enough, despite all my nightmares I don’t ever seem to have the ones about being chased. But to answer that second part I used to have dreams about flying, but it was always uncontrollable, like I’d suddenly start floating and kinda get stuck on the ceiling like a rogue helium balloon, it was fun but pretty useless.

7. Borrowed from my last award post: if you must murder someone, how would you commit the perfect murder?

Compiling tips and tricks, huh? I don’t know to be honest, I really don’t think about these kinds of things. Sorry!

1. Do you have a favourite Care Bear?

That’s like asking if I favourite child! No, I have no children and I have no care bears that I care for, NEXT QUESTION!

2. What about a favourite My Little Pony?

Why do I feel like I’m being interrogated here? No I’ve never masturbated to MLP hentai, no matter how much you torture me I’ll never admit to it in a court of law! But seriously, no, I do not partake of the “pony”.

3. Who’s your favourite sailor scout?

Whichever one was gay with the other one, the one where in the English dub they made them sister’s because… “we shan’t dare have something as debauched as same sex relations on this cartoon!” Yeah but I never watched much Sailor Moon either! Talk about the trifecta of animated shows I’ve never watched! 

4. What genre of music do you like?

I like all genres, except country. Literally, just a look at my iTunes playlist it’s 8000+ tracks of the most random musical choices. But if I had to pick one genre it would be ~alternative~

5. Do you have a favourite animal?

Do monster girls count? Because I’m partial to a snake girl, bird girl, horse girl and spider girl from Monster Musume… if not and you mean actual boring ass non-anime animal, then I dunno, a flamingo I guess…

6. Favourite subject in school?

English, because I got to be a smart ass. And Japanese because I am become weeb.

7. What’s your favourite Disney movie?

What makes you think this ‘Frozen Heart’ of mine likes Disney movies? Just ‘Let it Go’ already… ‘For The First Time In Forever’ I don’t have an answer, okay?

Cool, so what are the rules? Your such a square! Forget about the rules man… okay nevermind, the rules are: Thank the Person who nominated you and link back to their blog. ‘Kay, so what questions do you have?

1. Briefly Describe Your Blogging Style (Where is your favourite blogging spot/what is your favourite blogging tool).

Well, I can blog just about anywhere but my favourite place in my apartment is my anime office (it’s just an office filled with lots of anime merch). Either that or on the couch in the living room. I almost exclusively blog from my MacBook, but occasionally tap out a blog on my phone when I’m away from the lounge or office…

2. How do you manage your blogging and blog reading time?

I only follow like 50 people at the moment so it’s easy, I read every blog that’s relevant to my interests, live my life, and do a couple of blogs a day. But then again blogging comes exceptionally easy to me in the 20 Question Format. It’s just so much fun, that I don’t ever feel like it’s taking up too much time.

3. Who is your most read author?

Assuming this means manga author the answer is Okayado of Monster Musume fame. Not my favourite author mind you, just the one I’ve read the most of. But if you ask me this in a couple of months time the answer will probably be different, I’m getting into manga reading in a big way, more than I ever have in the past.

4. How did you come up with your blogging name?

By this I assume you mean the name of my blog. In which case it’s actually a bit of a story (though not particularly interesting but here goes…) Originally the name of this blog was to be ‘Questionable Anime’ but the irl waifu thought it was too confusing of a pun of a name and suggested ‘Questioning Anime’, but upon making a wordpress blog I found out that name was taken by a blog that had been deleted for years. So I was just casually browsing Twitter when I saw the #qanda pop up on my feed. It being the official hashtag of a shitty Australian show where racist people argue with people of colour and I thought, “hmm, anime q and a, there’s some SEO to be had there.” And the rest is history!

5. What Keeps You Blogging?

Existential dread? Alcohol? The constant approval of my peers? No, to be honest it’s just wanting to talk about anime; something I love more than anything else in this dumb world.

Seems simple enough! So what questions did you get?

1. What is one food you couldn’t live without?

If you’d asked me this a couple of months ago I would have said hot chips or ‘fries’ as some other countries like to put it. But recently they’ve not been agreeing with (must just be because I’m getting old!) So instead I’ll say white rice.

2. What are you listening to at the moment? (This could include bands, artists and genres.)

I have a very varied musical taste, of the 8000+ song on my ITunes library only 600+ are anime songs but I mostly listen to the whole thing on shuffle! So it’s a very eclectic list! When it comes to anime music I generally only listen to OP and ED songs, but a couple of Japanese artists who I’ve downloaded full albums for are, MONORAL, moumoon and Nothing’s Carved In Stone.

3. What is your favourite anime this season? Or favourite anime at the moment if you don’t have one!

Oh! Tough question! The critical pick is probably A Place Further Than The Universe for the amazing animation and genuinely touching story and characters. But if I’m being honest, Slow Start is just a show I adore and will probably be something I obsess over long after it’s done.

Untold Questions #1 – Awards Show Part One

What is this? Where am I? WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?! Don’t fret! This is but another new part of this website, miscellaneous blogs, so in other words not reviews of any kind but rather a place to thank the many people who’ve liked my work on Anime Q and A, to answer the questions they want answered and to spread the word of other worthwhile blogs through the wordpress anime blogging community.

Is this a cult? Hah! Yeah… probably…

But are they nice? Absurdly so.

Well I guess that’s all that matters… what are we calling this new venture? I was thinking ‘Untold Questions!’ because there’s no limit to the questions and it’s kind of more freeform but I still wanted to keep the conversational format we had going on…

Whatever I don’t care as long as I get paid… You never get paid, for any of this.

FFFFFUUUUUUUUU… So let’s begin!

So what’s this *ruffles through imaginary papers* you got nominated for awards? As in multiple! That’s cool! Yeah, I mean I don’t really understand it but it brought a tear to my eye and a weird warm feeling to my heart so it’s gotta be a good thing, right?

Either that or you had a stroke. Let’s go with it being a good thing, yeah?

Fair enough, so what was the first one? Well the first is Chizurue of Midnight Ravings, the rules are I have to say who nominated me, give the history of my blog, give two (or more) pieces of advice for new bloggers and nominate 10(!) other blogger and link their blogs.

Right off the bat I can see a problem. Yeah, I mean nominating 10 bloggers means I end up nominating nearly half my followers (I’m only new to this senpai’s, I only have like 25 followers!) and most of my big time followers probably already got this award a dozen times. Seems like they’d have better things to do than deal with this from a scrub tier blogger. It just feels weird to be nominating people for awards when I’m so green, but I promise when I’m big and famous like the people who follow me I’ll start nominating them for awards. Rest assured, I have a list and I’m checking it twice.

Okay then Santa Claus. I’m anime Colonel Sanders, bitch.

Right… Sure why not. Cool. So Chizurue of Midnight Ravings, thank you so much for the Blogger Recognition Award! The history of my blog is that I was wanting to start an anime blog for about 2 months before I did, kept second guessing my abilities, then when I had the idea for ’20 Question Anime Reviews’ I let my irl waifu read it and she actually smiled and laughed while reading it and she’s my harshest critic so I knew I was onto a good thing. As for advice for up and coming bloggers, well I think I have one single piece of advice that I feel is most important. And that is that even if you’re getting no likes and no views, write like you are, write like people care and love your stuff, because the positivity you put into your work comes out through your writing and that positivity will attract an audience in time.

And next is… Yes, my oldest and dearest anime blogger follower, the O.G. Irina of Drunken Anime Blog! Thank you so much for the accolade of ‘Real Neat Blog Award’, it’s been a long while since someone has called me ‘neat’ and not meant it in regards to my slight OCD about keeping a clean house! She was supposed to leave me 7 questions to ask, but “I’m too lazy” is all I see… hmm. Works for me! And nominated 5-10 bloggers, maybe later… guess Irina isn’t the only one who’s lazy… huehuehue!

And finally… Arthifis of Arthifis’ place, (his icon kinda looks like Yuri from Yuri on Ice!) They have nominated me for ‘Growing Self Blogger Award’. #innuendo. So apparently I have to mention the creator of this award as a rule, well all right: Roda @Growingself.blog now that that’s done with, onto the meat. Oh, it’s one of those nominate people things again… *sigh* I swear I’ll get into proper nominating mode when I’m more of a reel big fish instead of minnow. I’m sure I made someone happy with that reference I barely get myself…

Is that it? I think so… I mean, I’m not sure if I played the game right, since I didn’t actually nominate anyone, but I truly intend to once it makes more sense for me to. In fact here’s a real good way to know who to follow: click the link of all the people who follow me and follow them, there’s only 25 of them so it shouldn’t take long. They’re all good people (probably).

Well that was interesting, it’s kind of fun not having to count how many questions we’re up to like I have to with the 20 Question Anime Reviews. I know right?

Haha, how funny would it be if this, the first post of ‘Untold Questions’ where the number of questions asked has no specific amount ending up being 20 questions too. Hahaha, no that wouldn’t be funny at all, it would be terrifying.

Well good thing that’s not going to happen. Indeed!
