Site Update – 200 Followers and Summer Review Schedule

A Site Update concerning reaching 200 Followers, the AMA to follow and the review schedule for Summer 2018 Anime

Hey everyone just a quick-ish update about a few things. Firstly, I mentioned it on Twitter a week or so ago but I’ve hit 200 WordPress followers! Truly an exciting milestone and I have all of you to thank for it! I’m planning on doing an AMA (Ask Me Anything) post in celebration so if you have any questions for me either send me a tweet with a question or DM me if you want to keep it a secret! I’ll have more to say about hitting this milestone in that eventual post!

Also, not-so quick update about the Summer 2018 Anime Review Schedule for the site! As much as I’d like to keep reviewing every show I watch every week there’s simply not enough time to do so, so unfortunately some shows had to be cut—I’ll still keep watching them (unless of course they do something to annoy me) but unless they have a particularly interesting or noteworthy episode you won’t see reviews of the following Summer 2018 Anime shows:

Angels of Death
Attack On Titan Season 3
Banana Fish
Grand Blue Dreaming
Phantom of the Twilight

As for the review schedule itself; it’ll look something like this (Also bear in mind these are going off Australian times so they may look like they’re running earlier if you live in a different timezone):

Monday

Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs (10am~ AEST)
The Master of Ragnarok & the Blesser of Einherjar (5pm~ AEST)
Harukana Receive (Collab with Irina, will alternate week-to-week between my site and hers, post time will usually be 10pm~ AEST)

Tuesday

Miss Caretaker of Sunohara-sou (10am~ AEST)
Island (4pm~ AEST)
Hanebado! (10pm~ AEST)

Wednesday

Asobi Asobase (10am~ AEST)
Music Girls (10pm~ AEST)

Thursday

My Hero Academia Season 3 (10am~ AEST)
Dropkick On My Devil! (10pm~ AEST)

Friday

Steins;Gate 0 (10am~ AEST)
How Not To Summon A Demon Lord (Midnight~ AEST)

Saturday

Seven Senses of the Re’Union (10am~ AEST)
Happy Sugar Life (Midnight~ AEST)

Sunday

Chio’s School Road (10am~ AEST)
Cells At Work! (Midnight~ AEST)

In addition to these posts I’m hoping to squeeze in the occasional Top 10 List and full season anime/manga reviews (probably 1 a week) but no promises as since I have a casual job I can be called in at short notice and this is about as much as I can 100% commit to. Hopefully I haven’t disappointed too many people with the shows I’ve decided not to cover! Thanks for reading, and remember to ask me a question (or multiple questions) for the AMA. I haven’t set a deadline, I’ll just answer them once I feel like I’ve got a decent amount of questions for a post!

One Lovely Blog Award and 50 Followers! – Untold Questions

An Untold Questions blog about ‘One Lovely Blog Award’ and reaching 50 Followers.

What’s crackin’? Excuse me?

I’m trying to bring it back… “what’s crackin’?” Please don’t.

Fine, so what’s going on? DING! DING! DING! Announcement! Anime Q and A has hit 50 Followers! Well, 51 as of this morning, but wow! I’m so grateful to all the people who’ve followed, commented and liked my content, it means so much to me!

50Followers

Congrats! And so I take it there’s more to this post then that an announcement? Indeed! We’ve won another award! The ‘One Lovely Blog Award’!

“Lovely” huh? I never thought I’d see someone describe your site as that but I guess it takes all sorts… Don’t be mean! Keiko’s Anime Blog was lovely enough to nominate me!

Fine, fine… so what are the rules?

  1. Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  2. Answer the 11 questions they ask.
  3. Nominate 11 bloggers for the same award in the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family.
  4. Ask them 11 questions that you are dying for the answer to!

Geez, 11! So many 11’s. Coincidentally 11 is my favourite number so #themoreyoukno.

So let’s get on with answering these questions! Yes, let’s!

1. Do you share your birthday with one of your favourite anime characters? (If you don’t know, use this link to check. It is in Japanese but its easy to navigate. The green box with the numbers are the months so that’s where you start. The days will appear once you choose your month and then you’ll get a list of characters.)

Nope! I know my birthday is close to a few of my favourites, but no favourites on the actual day.

2. Following on from that, do you share your birthday with a character you dislike?

Well, seems like most of the characters I share a birthday with are from anime I don’t watch or who are boring side characters, so if I had to pick the most disliked out of the bunch it’d be Ishida Keigo from My First Girlfriend is a Gal, very forgettable and boring character.

3. If you could be the protagonist of an anime, what type of protagonist would you be and what would you call yourself?

I’d be a super nice guy at the centre of a harem, and I’d be called Saboten-kun.

4. If you were a pirate, what would you be called?

Arrrgh! I be Cap’n Weeb-beard the Pervy! (Sorry that was terrible…)

5. You have been transported to the times of King Arthur. Who would you be?

Was King Arthur fictional? I know so little about this particular period… um, can I be Merlin? Magic seems pretty OP.

6. Following on from that question, what would your choice of weapon and horse be called?

A magic wand, 10¾” long, made of vine wood, and possessing a dragon heartstring core (NERD) and my horse would be Centorea (PERV).

7. If you were caught outside in a snowstorm, what would you do?

Well I know what I’d do if I was caught in a Sandstorm. *dances*

8. What one thing are you proud to own?

I had to think about this for a long time, because while I own a lot of things I’ve never really thought about being ‘proud’ of any of said things, I mean I like the things I own, but proud? Huh… this kind of gave me the (sad?) realisation that there’s nothing I’m proud of that I own. Nothing physical or tangible at least.

9. What’s the weirdest song you’ve ever heard?

I guess it depends what the individual deems as weird, I like weird stuff so something that’s pretty normal for me might be weird to you. Ummm…

10. Have you ever started watching/reading something and forced yourself to finish it despite it being terrible? If so, what was it?

Well I have a rule about not dropping shows so yes, I’ve watched some pretty bad shows. None of I reviewed on the site before though because I tend to prefer writing about things I like as it makes me happy, but I should probably get around to some more negative reviews lest everyone think I like everything I watch. The worst anime I’ve watched all the way through is ‘Wanna Be The Strongest In The World’.

11. What anime are you planning to watch from the spring season?

My Hero Academia 3, Steins;Gate 0, Tokyo Ghoul:re, Food Wars 3 (part 2), Gun Gale Online, High School DxD Hero, Persona 5 the Animation, Devils Line, Mahou Shoujo Site, The Caligula Effect, Jikken-hin Kazoku: Creatures Family Days, Dorei-ku the Animation, Lostorage Conflated WIXOSS, Mahou Shoujo Ore, Comic Girls, Uma Masume: Pretty Derby, Tachibanakan Triangle, Alice or Alice, Hisone to Maso-tan. Plus some more probably…

Phew! We made it through… wait how many shows are you watching next season?! A lot. At least that’s the plan anyway!

Yikes! Oh wait, that effects me too, doesn’t it! That’s right! More work for you buddy!

Right, so back to the awards post, you have to nominate 11 people now! ‘Kay, so by now I’ve probably nominated everybody I follow for one of these types of awards, so sorry if there’s a double up! Also, there’s no obligation to do this yourself if you don’t have the time!

ChaoticLass
Tessa Who was officially my 50th Follower! Thank you!

Okay and now 11 questions! Okay then! Forgive me if these questions are a bit lacking, this has been a long post to write!

  1. What’s your favourite thing to drink on a cold Winter’s day?
  2. What’s something that you used to love as a child (food, show, anything) that you don’t like now?
  3. Where do you watch the majority of your anime? (TV, computer, smart phone)
  4. If you could have any item from an anime be real and only you’re allowed to have it, what would it be?
  5. Do you collect anything? If so what?
  6. If you had to describe yourself in a song lyric (or whole song) what would it be?
  7. Do you own any anime figurines? If not, what character would you like to have as an anime figurine?
  8. Say something negative about something you love.
  9. Say something positive about something you hate.
  10. What’s one anime you wish would get another season?
  11. You’re having a dream where you’re walking down a path across a field and the path forks off. One path goes into a grove, the other goes into a forest. Do you 1) Go to the grove, 2) Go to the forest, 3) Turn back.

That last question was a little weird… I’ve been reading ‘No Matter How I Look At It It’s You Guys’ Fault I’m Not Popular’ and so it got stuck in my head.

Right, well that’s it then, all criteria fulfilled! Yay! Thanks again to Keiko for the nomination and thanks all for reading!

Untold Questions – The Future of Anime Q and A

An Untold Questions blog concerning the future of Anime Q and A.

What’s wrong? Oh you know, just thinking about the future.

Like flying cars and robots and colonising other planets and stuff? No, like my future and the blog’s future.

Oh, sounds kind of serious. It is, partially so, I mean it is just a blog it’s not life and death, but I’ve been here less than a month and it’s already something I enjoy doing more than a lot of things recently. 2017 was not a good year for me emotionally, but finishing the year off by quitting a job that I hated and going to Japan for three weeks was a real boon to my psyche. But it’s been three months since then and the money from my long service leave payout is almost entirely dried up, so either I go about getting a new job or…

Or? Or I try and make this my job.

This? Don’t be ridiculous. I can dream, can’t I?

You have 34 followers on wordpress, not exactly setting the blogging world on fire. I didn’t say it would be easy…

So what’s the point of this particular blog post exactly? I don’t know. I guess just to let my followers know that with their help I know I can succeed and achieve my goal. And that I’ve got big plans for this blog for the coming months whether I get a part time job or not!

Anything else? Yes, I can’t even begin to thank all the people who’ve liked my content over the past few weeks, it’s been such a boon to this poor writer’s heart, who’s always had the blogging spirit but never the drive or ideas to do so. But in 20 Question Anime Review’s I found a muse that’s a constant voice in my ear, pushing me to create more and more content.

Are you talking about me? Well, yeah. Otherwise none of this would be here…

I’ve never been someone’s muse before! Don’t get so excited, this is already weird enough as it is.

And I believe you wanted to ask your readers something too? Indeed. To all my fellow bloggers, you’ve already done so much, but I ask for your assistance in growing my audience. To the one’s who’ve reblogged and retweeted and recommended I couldn’t ask for more that would be selfish, but know I appreciate it every time you do. It feels like my words are going further than they have ever before and as a writer that’s all I could’ve hoped for. But what other advice would you give me to help grow my followers?

And you wanted to talk about collaborations too, yeah? Right, so obviously being new to wordpress blogging I don’t know a lot about collaborations, in fact to be blunt, I know nothing. For example whose blog do they go on? Do they go on both at the same time? Etc, please unfurl your great knowledge upon me so I can be a better blogger. Also and this is important, if anyone wants to collaborate with me, now would be a good time while I’m still unemployed! Drop me a message on twitter if you want to discuss ideas!

Was there site news too? Yes! Starting in March I’ll be doing 20 Question Manga Reviews! But as they’ll probably take a lot more time to organise, don’t expect more than one a week!

Cool, so that’s it then? For now, but feel free to leave any advice you have for an up and comer like me and once again thank you all for your continued support! Also, sorry if this post was a bit dry but kudos if you made it through ’til the end!
